Chemical Product Development

We can assist in the development of new chemical products possessing specific physical properties. Past projects have included the design of new solvents, lubricants, heat transfer fluids, and aircraft deicing fluids. Some of our current investigations include:

• Higher performance sonar fill fluids
• Safe solvents for the extraction of fermentation products
• Additives for improving the performance of jet fuels
• Environmentally friendly aircraft deicing fluids

Material Substitution

Replacing environmentally incompatible materials with improved substitutes can dramatically reduce pollution. We combine our in-house software tools and solvent expertise with partnerships for laboratory and pilot plant testing to offer a complete substitution service.

Some of the substitution projects we have investigated include:

• Azeotropic cleaning solvents to replace CFC-113
• Environmentally compatible solvents for removing photolithography resists
• Identifying alternative solvents for a polymerization reaction
• HFC compatible lubricants for use in refrigeration compressors
• Methylene chloride reaction solvent replacement
